Therasuit is a soft orthotic designed to realign the spine and body weight bearing and loading accuracy for children with cerebral palsy and other neuro-motor conditions affecting their movement abilities.
We use the therasuit and corresponding cage to provide the child with opportunities to create typical movement patterns. And for aggressive strengthening/ stretching techniques to inhibit compensated patterns of development.
With the Therasuit we can influence the development of normalized movement.

We use our training in Sensory Integration to begin with the critical recognition that our brains develop from a foundation of infant involuntary reflexes. Over time, those reflexes mature into an active state, as the basis of brain development and growth.
By retraining the brain through passive, active assistive, and active components of the reflex circuit, breakthroughs in new brain growth can be encouraged, for improved cognition, visual/ auditory processing skills and fluidity of body movement patterns. In particular, we incorpate skills we've acquired in 9 specialized MNRI courses as elements in our therapy process.

Spider Cage Therapy is an intense physiotherapy treatment that involves suspending the child in the centre of a Universal Exercise Unit (UEU) by using a number of elastic bungee cords of different elasticity.
Our expertise is to direct precise attachment of these bungee cords to specific points on a special belt around the child’s waist, forming a unique spider web around the child, which provides them with essential support while controlling their movements to facilitate strengthening of weak muscles while preventing compensatory use of other muscles.

We incorporate the option of Astronaut Training as a precise, powerful, therapeutic protocol that is designed to to develop optimal vestibular function, an essential foundation for sensory processing and movement control.
Our inner ear vestibular sensors tell us exactly where we are in space. But our vestibular system is unable do its job effectively when “shut down” from ear infections, high fevers, allergies, head trauma, and restricted movement.
The Astronaut Protocol supports our vestibular system for efficient and effective movement for social and play skills and to enhance learning and memory.

Sensory Integration disorders develop when children do not properly integrate the various sensory input received.
When a child doesn't process incoming sensory information properly from vision, auditory, tactile, proprioceiptive (body awareness) and vestibular (movement) senses, brain processing and behavior can be affected.
We use a variety of Sensory Integration Therapy options, using therapy swings and a vibration machine to assist the child in modulation of adequate sensory processing

Two essential vision elements are Visual Acuity and Visual Processing Skills:
VISUAL ACUITY determines how clearly we are able to see - and whether glasses will correct for accurate visual clarity.
VISUAL PROCESSING SKILLS: Our brain needs to efficiently follow a complex sequence to process information that we see in order to understand the images and react accordingly.
By simulating the eye motor nerve, we can get better and more efficient visual processing, involving the visual nerves transporting information between the eye's retina our brain's occipital lobe .

Yoga therapy can provide crucial support as part of therapeutic strategy.
We can use our specialized yoga training to improve behavior and focus, strength, flexibility, balance, and self-regulation, making it an ideal practice for children on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, sensory processing and emotional/behavioral disorders, and other exceptionalities.

In our clinic pool, we have the option of water-based therapy for a low gravity complex environment, where improved stretching and strengthening positions.
The water provides a sensory component for the child to process in a tactile modality proprioception (body awareness) as well as a vestibular (movement) modality.
Since a child begins life in utero surrounded by amniotic fluid, being in the water is a strong therapeutic modality for brain development.

Bal-A-Vis-X (Balance Auditory Vision Exercises) is a brain based program of a series of exercises increasing in complexity inclusive of crossing midline and balancing.
With Bal-A-Vis-X we can support the child to follow a rhythmic pattern that encourages visual and auditory processing skills development and brain growth.

Depending on what your child's needs are, we can help you as needed with recommendations for building up a team of professionals may be essential as a support to his/ her therapy.
Some of these professionals can include:
Kinesio tape is an elastic, adhesive tape that is hypo-allergenic and wearable for days at a time.
This therapeutic taping strategy provides strength and stability to muscles and joints, in addition to soft tissue manipulation to correspond with therapy manipulation.
Kinesio tape can be applied to re-inforce appropriate therapeutic movement patterns even after the child leaves his or her therapy session.
Your child may need special shoes or orthotics and splints to prevent further joint tightness or correct proper foot alignment when walking or standing.
Your child may need to see an Optometrist and Opthamologist to monitor eye function and acuity along with glasses fitting when appropriate.
Your child may need to see an Audiologist to monitor hearing and fluid levels in the ear.
